Porvair Caribou makes components for ventilators amid pandemic

7 Sep 2020

Porvair Caribou is doing its part to ensure those stricken with Covid-19 have the medical equipment needed to treat them.

David Mika, General Manager of Porvair Filtration, says components made at the Caribou facility are being used in a number of machines designed to treat some of the sickest patients.

“We did a little research to see where some of these filters are going to, and one of them was in respiratory apparatuses for ventilation, so we’re - I guess we’re - hopefully we’re part of the solution to resolve the issue as quickly as we can,” says David Mika.

Unlike many businesses that closed or partially shut down due to the pandemic, Mika says his staff have worked through the past several months, following CDC guidelines to ensure the safety of all in the facility.
