Our range of Sinterflo® mouldings can be manufactured to produce a range of pore sizes suitable for flame arrestor applications, such as catalytic bead sensors.
This optimised pore size distribution ensures:
- Flame arresting occurs due to the torturous flame path, preventing the complex sensor electronics igniting the gases being detected.
- Sensor protection. The robust nature of stainless steel offers increased protection for delicate sensors in aggressive environments.
- Optimum flow of gases. The controlled pore size and uniform density ensures an even flow of gas to the sensor device.
Our manufacturing versatility ensures a quick turn around on both porous stainless steel sample and production volumes and can be supplied in many different formats to suit particular customer design requirements. This includes:
- moulded discs or plugs
- moulded discs or plugs sintered directly in to stainless steel sensor housings.
- moulded cylinders with or without housings, end caps or threads
- Complex 3D shapes containing both threads and end caps
