Microbial stabilisation of bottled wines with membrane filtration is a well-established process within the industry. Whilst the wine’s unique flavour and characteristics are unaffected by the Porvair Filtration Group BiofilTM PES membrane filter, all wine spoilage organisms can be safely and reliably removed prior to bottling, thus extending the shelf life of the wine.
The optical brightness of a bottled mineral water is possibly the first measure of quality for many consumers. The clarity of a bottled mineral water can be influenced by a number of factors, including quality of the water source, airborne bacterial contamination from storage vessel vents and carbonating systems.
Clarifying filtration
Our filters can provide clarity of bulk wines delivered to storage vessels. Suitable filter cartridges include KlearfilTM and PolyfilTM II depth filters.
Pre-filtration
Our pre-filters can be used to protect and extend the life of the our final membrane filters. Suitable filter cartridges include MicrofilTM, KlearfilTM and PolyfilTM II depth filters.
Final filtration
The removal of spoilage organisms such as yeast and bacteria is assured with the use of our integrity testable membrane filter, the BiofilTM PES.
Gas filtration
Our FluorofilTM and FluorofilTM Plus filters can ensure the removal of spoilage organisms from CO2, N2 and air, and can also be used for sterile venting and blanket transfer.
Tanker transfer
Our filters can provide the assurance of quality during transfer from tank to tank, or tank to process. Suitable filters include KlearfilTM, PolyfilTM II or BiofilTM PES depending on the requirements.
Bottle rinsing filtration
The removal of spoilage organisms such as yeast and bacteria from glass and PET bottles is assured with the use of our integrity testable membrane filter, the BiofilTM PES.
Steam filtration
Our Sinterflo® P sintered stainless steel powder filter can be safely used for sterilisation of process equipment and both direct and indirect thermal processing of foodstuffs.
